When a woman’s ovaries fail to react sufficiently to a hormonal stimulation under IVF treatment, this is called “Low Responder”. Occasionally, this can result in a raised FSH level. In order to obtain a satisfactory number of eggs, as required for an IVF treatment, it is important to identify these patients in good time.
The AMH blood value (Anti-Mullerian hormone) is used to estimate the ovaries’ stimulation capacity prior to IVF. The AMH is considerably more effective in evaluating ovarian activity than FSH or Inhibin.
