The evaluation of sperm quality through a spermiogram

In order to determine why some couples cannot conceive children naturally a spermiogram is routinely made to evaluate the quality of the man’s sperm. The following sperm quality criteria must be met in order to conceive a child naturally:

Density (sperm count):
Over 10 million sperm per ml ejaculate is necessary.

Motility (movement of sperm):
Over 20% should be normally mobile.

Morphology (shape of sperm):
Over 30% should be of normal shape.

• Spermiogram according to WHO guidelines
• Spermiogram with vital test
• Spermiogram with HBA test in regard to P-ICSI
