Varicose veins appear relatively often on the left side of the scrotum (varicocele). They can lead to an uncomfortable swelling of the scrotum and/or pain in the area. They can also have a negative effect on the maturation of sperm cells and lead to the deterioration of sperm quality. Urologists can diagnose varicose veins in the testicles by a simple examination of the scrotum or by using ultrasound.
If the varicose veins cause pain or the couples wish to have a baby, a surgical transaction of the veins or, alternatively, an obliteration of the veins can be considered.
A surgical transaction of the scrotum’s varicose veins consists, mainly, of a small cut to the left groin (similar to hernia surgery) through which the veins are cut. |
